A Simple 3 Day-Detox Diet

Most 3 Day-Detox are pretty similar as far as the basic diet goes. A mild diet is the best way to try detoxifying for the first time. If you are in good health they are safe and effective. People that are underweight or who have conditions such as cancer, kidney or liver disease, or ulcers should always consult a doctor before any diet.

The first day is the day to cleanse the system and get rid of the built up impurities. Salads and fruits are the menu of the day and some fresh fish for protein. Lots of water is a mainstay on Day 1 and throughout the diet. Start out everyday with a cup of warm water with half a lemon squeezed in. This helps with digestion and a faster metabolism. Breakfast would be a cup of wholegrain cereal and a serving of fruit. Lunch should be fresh vegetables (raw or steamed) and fresh fish fish (grilled). Dinner will be similar to lunch. Throughout the day drink only water and some fresh fruit or vegetable juice. Make sure juices are fresh and don't contain added sugars. Salads are OK for lunch and dinner but use only vinegar or natural virgin oils for dressing. The big focus on the first day should be vegetables and water. You should be drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day. You need to do about 30 minutes of light exercise such as walking. Don't overdo the exercise. End the day with a cup of herbal tea before bed.

The second day continues the process of detoxification you started. Start the day again with warm water and lemon followed by a breakfast of fresh fruit and water. A good sized green salad for lunch and steamed fish and vegetables for dinner. Again, 30 minutes of light exercise and end the day with herbal tea. Remember - at least 8 glasses of water. This is the hardest day. You will really feel the craving for "normal" food but you just have to fight though it. At the end of the second day you should start noticing that you are losing that bloated feeling around your stomach and that your skin is starting to be clearer. Hang in there...your almost there!

On Day 3 you will feel hungry and that's normal. Try to get through the day without using alot of energy. You are almost done and your body is finally about to get rid of all those toxins. Start with your lemon water as usual. Water and fruit for the rest of the day and vegetables for dinner. Thirty minutes of light exercise and herbal tea before bed.

The 3 Day-Detox diet is sparse, but it is only for three days and the purpose is to cleanse the body. You have replaced chemicals and processed foods with a completely natural diet.
Continue to drink lots of water and include more fresh fruit and vegetables in your meals. You will see the results of your efforts after Day 3 so give yourself a pat on the back.

Is it better to do this than to do a 3 day detox with only water and juice?

By the 3rd day, you are home free. The endorphins are flying and you feel great. You will also notice a difference on the scale.

If you would like to go a little more hardcore with the diet you can simply cut out all solid foods. If you feel faint just drink some FRESHLY squeezed, made by YOU, juice. Don't overdo with the juices, they have the ability to knock out long stored toxins in the fat stores and can overwhelm the liver. If you're a scardy cat the last sentence is not for you as you are already overly carefull.
